What is a trademark?

- Identifies a product as belonging to a specific company and recognizes the company's ownership of the brand.

Trademark : Must

1. Completely different = symbol should not give any explanation about product. 2. Not confusing = the chosen trademark must NOT similar to other trademark which can confusing others.

Economic right

1. Original copy. 2. Works of art produced for public. 3. Exhibiting work of art to public. 4. Communicating the works of art to public.

Why need patent?

1. To ease and encourage exposure of any innovation to public domain for the benefit of many people. 2. Patent ensures the detail of any new technology is exposed and be exploited by anyone when the protection period expire. 3. Without patent, inventor tends to keep their invention a secret.

How long will a patent last?

15 years after the patent is issued. After that anyone can use the patent without having to pay.

What is patent?

A set of individual exclusive right guaranteed by the nation for specific period.

What is copyright?

The right to protect literary works produced from intellectual effort from being copies.
