VALUES area

An area to position fields that contain data that is summarized in a PivotTable report or PivotChart report. The data placed here is usually numeric or financial in nature and the data is summarized—summed. You can also perform other basic calculations such as finding the average, the minimum, or the maximum.

Layout section

The lower portion of the PivotTable Fields pane containing the four areas for layout; use this area to rearrange and reposition fields in the PivotTable

Interval

The number of cells to include in the average.

Slicer Header

The top of a slicer that indicates the category of the slicer items

Field Section

The upper portion of the PivotTable fields pane containing the fields-column titles-from your source data; use this area to add fields to and remove fields from the Pivot Table

PivotChart report

A graphical representation of the data in a PivotTable report

OR function

A logical function that can be used to develop compound logical tests using up to 255 arguments. The function returns a value of TRUE if ANY of the conditions are met.

SUMIF function

A logical function that contains one logic

COUNTIF function

A logical function that counts the cells that meet specific criteria in a specified range.

Data Model

A method of incorporating data from multiple, related tables into an Excel worksheet

Forecast

A prediction of the future, often based on past performances.

Moving average

A sequence of averages computed from parts of a data series.

Scenario

A set of values that Excel saves and can substitute automatically in your worksheet.

PivotTable Fields pane

Source data

The data for a PivotTable, formatted in columns and rows, which can be located in an Excel worksheet or an external source

COLUMNS area

An area to position fields that you want to display as columns in the PivotTable report. Field names places here becomes column titles, and the data is grouped in columns by these titles

ROWS area

An area to position fields that you want to display as rows in the PivotTable report. Field names places here become row titles, and the data is grouped by these row titles

An association between tables that share a common field

Power View

An exel Bl tool that allows you to create and interact with multiple charts, slicers, and other data visualizations in a single sheet

An optional command or feature that is not immediately available ; you must first install and/or activate an add-in to use it.

Slicer

Easy-To-Use filtering control with buttons that enable you to drill down through large amounts of data
