isotonic exercises
*dynamic exercises (moves) *muscles contract and movement occures *most physical conditioning exercises *running *walking *swimming *cycling *ADL's *ROM's *trapeze to lift the body off bed, pushing or pulling *increase muscle tone, mass & strength
isokinetic exercises
*resistive exercises, they can be isotonic or isometric exercises. *individual moves or tenses against resistance. *weight lifting
isometric exercises
*static or setting exercises (tenses) *muscle contracts without moving the joint *exerting pressure against a solid object *good for strengthening abdominal, gluteal, & quadriceps *mild increase in heart rate *wall sitting
