Condensation

As the air cools, water vapor in the air may change to liquid water. The process of gas becoming a liquid.

Water Cycle

How the Earth's water changes forms between liquid (rain), solid (ice), and gas (vapor), but also moving on, above, and in the Earth.

Liquid

Liquid water is fluid and wet. This is the state of water that we are familiar with.

3 States Of Water

Liquid, Solid, and Gas

Gas

Matter that has no definite volume or shape.

Deposition

Occurs when water vapor changes state directly from a gas to a solid.

Runoff

Precipitation lands on Earth's surface, and some of the water will flow downhill across Earth's surface into wetlands, rivers, or lakes.

Infiltration

Some of the water on land may soak below Earth's surface into spaces in the soil and rock.

Solid

The molecules in water are held tightly together and don't move easily. A matter that has a definite shape and volume.

Transpiration

The release of water vapor into the air by plants.

Evaporation

When liquid water gains enough energy to escape the liquid surface and form water vapor.

Sublimation

When solid water changes directly to water vapor without first becoming a liquid.

Precipitation

is any form of water that falls to Earth from clouds.
