Comparing entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship

Both need to generate ideas The entrepreneur may risk their own personal assets to develop their idea while the Intrapreneur uses company resources. The intrapreneur has to work with their colleagues/counterparts in the business unit to develop the idea. The intrapreneur has less risk than the entrepreneur, as the intrapreneur works for the organization whereas the entrepreneur risk his capital in the venture. The entrepreneur has full control of the business whereas the intrapreneur has less control since they rely on the directives.

Entrepreneurship

This is described as a process whereby an individual or group of individuals using organized efforts to pursue opportunities to create value and grow by fulfilling wants and needs through innovation and uniqueness, no matter what resources the entrepreneur currently has.

Intrapreneurship

This is described as the practice of entrepreneurial activities within an organizational context or business unit. Employees can be intrapreneurs within the firm, as the firm creates the environment to foster and encourage employee creativity and idea development
