Functional Electronic Stimulation (FES)

(Under Miami Project) - A treatment that applies small electrical charges to the leg to improve mobility if you have difficulties with walking because of damage to your brain or spinal cord. - The device is supposed to help people be able to stand and walk, but only for short distances, a wheelchair or walker is still necessary for moving around for long periods of time. - May also help decrease osteoporosis.
