Cytoplasm

Cytoplasm is a substance enclosed in the cell membrane. When a cell lacks a nucleus all the contents of the cell is stored in the cytoplasm. The cytoplasm is 70-90% water and usually colourless.

DNA

DNA is a molecule that contains the genetic instructions that is used in the development and functioning of all known organisms. Along with RNA and protein, DNA is one of the most important things to form life. DNA can be found in chromosomes inside the nucleus.

Eukaryotic Cells

Eukaryote is an organism that have cells that have a more complex internal structure. All large complex organisms are eukaryotes which make up one of the three domains of life. An eukaryotic cell may consists of a cell membrane, cell wall, mitochondria or cytoskeleton. Plant, animal and fungi cells are made of different organelles.

Plasma Membrane

Plasma membrane is found in the cell's outer membrane. In animals it is found in the outermost covering of the cell whereas in plants, fungi, and some bacteria it is located beneath the cell wall.

Prokaryotic Cells

Prokaryote is an organism that lacks a nucleus. They are usually unicellular cells, single-celled organism. Prokaryotes do not have a nucleus, mitochondria, or any other membrane-bound organelles. All their important substances are located together in the same area enclosed by the cell membrane.

Ribosomes

Ribosomes are where biological protein synthesis occurs. They differ in size and are usually found in the nucleolus.

Common Features and Differences of Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cells

Some differebces are, eukaryotic cells are much larger and more complex. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus, while eukaryotic cells do. Also, Eukaryotic DNA is linear while prokaryotic DNA is circular. Eukaryotic ribosomes are much larger than prokaryotic ribosomes and the cytoplasm of prokaryotes does not contain any organelles. Some similarities are that they are enclosed by plasma membranes and contain ribosomes. They also have DNA and aref illed with cytoplasm.
