Chief Legislator

Only Congress has the actual power to make laws, but the Constitution gives the president power to influence Congress in its lawmaking. Presidents may urge Congress to pass new laws or veto bills that they do not favor.

Chief of State (United States)

The President of the United States of America is the elected head of state and head of government of the United States. The president leads the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces.

Caucus

A meeting of the members of a political party to select candidates or convention delegates, determine policy, etc. b. a faction within a legislative body that pursues its interests through the legislative process

Primary

A meeting of the voters in a political party to choose delegates for a convention or nominees for office, or a preliminary election to nominate candidates for office.

Commander-In-Chief

Head of state or officer in supreme command of a country's armed forces. -an officer in charge of a major subdivision of a country's armed forces, or of its forces in a particular area.

Chief of Party

*One who provides leadership in the overall management of large projects or initiatives. *One who represents the view of a party as a whole, helping to get members of the party elected and to represent their party in a positive light. *One responsible for leading a project's technical direction and providing management oversight for project activities.

Chief Executive/ administration

Position of the most senior corporate officer, executive, or administrator in charge of managing a non-profit or for-profit organization.

Chief Diplomat (foreign relations)

The president decides what American diplomats and ambassadors shall say to foreign governments. With the help of advisers, the president makes the foreign policy of the United States.

Chief Guardian of the Economy

in this role the president is concerned with such things as unemployment high prices taxes business profits and the general prosperity of the country. the president does not control the economy, but is expected to help it run smoothly.
