Two types of generalization (2 words)

1) Stimulus 2) Response

Taking advantage of naturally occurring teaching opportunities that arise in the natural environment

Capturing

Creating or setting up a teaching opportunity during naturalistic teaching

Contriving

A teaching procedure in which learning trials are presented in quick succession, with each trial having a clear beginning and end (3 words or 3 letters)

Discrete trial teaching (DTT also acceptable)

Method that enhances DTT by prompting correct response immediately after the instruction (2 words)

Errorless teaching

Method that enhances DTT by moving quickly from one trial to the next (3 words)

Fast-paced instruction

Behavior that is fast, accurate, and durable

Fluency (fluent also acceptable)

The spread of the effects of reinforcement to new, untrained behavior or environments without additional training

Generalization

Naturalistic teaching procedure that includes learner-initiated teaching trials, followed by naturally occurring reinforcement consequences (2 words)

Incidental teaching

Extent to which behavior change lasts over time (after the intervention has ended)

Maintenance

Used to determine if learning occurred and lasted over time (2 words)

Maintenance checks

Learner no longer requires help to complete a skill independently

Mastery

Criteria that indicates when a skill is "mastered," usually at least 80% (2 words)

Mastery criteria

Method that enhances DTT by mixing up tasks so the majority are known, easy, and fun (80:20 ratio) (5 words)

Mixing new and mastered tasks

Teaching skills in the natural environment away from an "artificial" setting (3 words)

Naturalistic teaching procedures

One response is taught and then other related responses also occur without further training (2 words)

Response generalization

Goals, target responses, materials, teaching procedure, prompts and fading, reinforcement, and data collection are all components of a (3 words)

Skill acquisition plan

Plan that lists what needs to be taught and how to teach it (3 words)

Skill acquisition plan

The same trained response occurs in the presence of new and untrained antecedent stimuli or in untrained environments (2 words)

Stimulus generalization

Method that enhances DTT by mixing and varying questions, tasks, or instructions (4 words)

Varying tasks and instructions
