Due to prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity and or manufacturing errors certain Takata driver and passenger front airbag inflators may rupture (break apart) when the airbags are deployed. When ruptures metal and plastic fragments can be ejected into cabin at high speed and hit occupants causing injury

When a safety defect that poses a unreasonable safety risk is determined to exist, a safety recall will be necessary
