Southwest Region
- gets very little precipitation - very hot summers - known for drilling oil, mining, and ranching - includes Dallas, Phoenix, and Santa Fe
Midwest Region
- has flat, grassy plains and large areas of forest - 4 of the 5 Great Lakes touch this region - Part of this region is called "Tornado Alley" because of it's springtime storms - includes Chicago, Detroit, and Indianapolis
Southeast Region
- hot and humid in the summer. - grows crops such as cotton, oranges, and tobacco. - has a lot of coastline on both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. - includes Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, and Nashville
West Region
- known for having a variety of different climates and landforms. - borders the Pacific Ocean. - has both the coldest and hottest temperatures in the United States - includes Los Angeles, Portland, and Denver
Northeast Region
- known for its 4 distinct seasons - known for its fishing and growing crops such as apples - includes New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia - has a rocky Atlantic coastline.
