Geomentry Vocab
Perpendicular bisector
A line that is perpendicular to a segment at its midpoint.
Orthocenter
The point of concurrency of the altitudes of a triangle(can be inside, outside or on border of the triangle)
Centroid
The point of concurrency of the medians of a triangle(always inside triangle and divides each median into segments whose ratio is (2:1)
CPCTC (Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent)
Used as a justification in a proof after you have proven two triangles congruent.
point of concurrency
a point where the altitudes, perpendicular bisectors, medians, or angles bisectors of a triangle meet
angle bisector
a ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles
Median
a segment that joins a vertex of a triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side
Altitude
a segment that joins a vertex of a triangle to the opposite side AND is perpendicular to the opposite side
equidstant
equally distant
incenter
the point of concurrency of the angle bisectors of a triangle(always in triangle)
Circumcenter
the point of concurrency of the perpendicular bisectors of a triangle(can be inside, outside, or on the border of a triangle)
