AI is the creation of computer systems and machines that are capble of tasks that are historically only completed by humans such as recognizing speech, making decisions, and identifying patterns.

Which one of the following is the component of cognitive science that uses computer modeling through artificial neural networks to try to explain human intellectual abilities?

Connectionism

What term refers to using layered architecture with a protected executive layer that allows additional environment subsystems to be added without affecting the executive layer?

Extensibility

Mike is leading a team charged with developing a workflow alteration for our front office staff's software. He knows that the project is pretty straightforward, and he is not expecting many changes. The ideal would be to have the front office staff engaged in the design process of the project. Mike has selected his team and they are in their second planning meeting when our CEO walks in to let him know that the 6-month timeline has been reduced to 3 months. Mike takes a deep breath and thinks it is doable, but it has chosen his model for him. He will now push to use the RAD model since he knows that it will work given the short timeline. Not too many changes should be made, and the customers must be highly involved in the process. What are the characteristics of the RAD model?

Fast Analysis of focus groups and workshops with real data, quick design of prototype, demonstration and testing, feedback and refining, build, and implementation. No room for error. meeting minimum requirements. Can be completed and deployed in 3 months

From which perspective does cognitive science study the mind, intelligence, and behavior? Question options:

Information processing

How would you best describe the throughput or processing components of computers?

Input devices and the computer monitor are examples of visible throughput components.

Which of the following statements is correct about the waterfall model?

It is a sequential development process

What term refers to a prime input device resembling a typewriter?

Keyboard

What term refers to the second most commonly used input device manipulated by the user's hand to point, click, and move objects around the computer screen?

Mouse

Mike is leading a team charged with developing a workflow alteration for our front office staff's software. He knows that the project is pretty straightforward, and he is not expecting many changes. The ideal would be to have the front office staff engaged in the design process of the project. Mike has selected his team and they are in their second planning meeting when our CEO walks in to let him know that the 6-month timeline has been reduced to 3 months. Not too many changes should be made, and the customers must be highly involved in the process. What are the potential pitfalls of the RAD model, and how should Mike plan to avoid them?

Pitfalls of using RAD model are not many changes can be made, depency on current office staff and design group that must assist in design and implementation of changes with little error and complete efficiency, and a decent customer base willing to actively participate in providing reliable data. To avoid failure with implementing the RAD model for the project he needs to create a focus group of his most dependent office staff with the most technical and customer relation skills and knowledge, create another focus group of cutomers that have the longest standing with the business and the most to gain from the workflow alteration, and from the data only implement the changes that will make the largest impact on workflow. A fast pace can be biggest disadvantage because there might not be time for testing.

What term refers to an external device that yields a hard copy of your documents?

Printer
