Elements that are not used anymore for example <b>, <i>, <font>
Heading levels 1-6
• Block Level element • H1 is the largest • H2 is the second largest • H3 is the third largest • H4 is the third smallest • H5 is the second smallest • H6 is the smallest • heading tags are container tags that encompass the affected text • because headings are Block Level elements they are automatically preceded by and followed by paragraph breaks
The horizontal rule tag: <hr>
• a horizontal rule is a line on a web page that is used for separating it into sections • the horizontal rule tag is also a block level HTML tag
Text level elements
• also called inline level tags • affects single characters or words • not followed by brakes unless the brakes are manually appears in line with other text
Paragraph level elements
• princess level elements are also sometimes referred to as Block Level elements are block elements • paragraph of elements are elements that can affect the entire paragraphs or multiple paragraphs • paragraph level elements should not break with another paragraph level tag
The address tag: <address>
• the address tag is used to represent contact information • the address tag is a block tag • it displays in the web browser in italics
The emphasized tag:<em>
• the emphasized tag is used to indicate if the size text• the emphasized tag is an inline tag • it displays in italics
The <br> tag
• the line brake tag starts a new line on a web page • it is a text level element • and the web browser the text following it appears on its own line with no other text on the right or left of it • unlike the paragraph tag though, a line break tag does not add spacing at the top or bottom of the text • the brake tag does not use a separate closing tag, so it falls on the unique tags syntax. A closing / is added to every line right to make it a standalone not empty tags it as follows: <br />
The <pre> tag
• the pre tag tells the web browser that the enclosed text is pre-formatted • the pre tag retains formatting on pre-formatted text • it can be used to retain tabular format and spacing • all texts between the opening and closing pre tags will render as formatted and the HTML file
Strong Text Tag: <strong>
• the strong tag represents strong importance for text • it is an inline tag • in the web browser at this place text in bold
The <p> tag
•The <p> tag is used to create a paragraph or signified text and web page. • it is a block element • by default, and a web browser, third spacing at the top and bottom of the text
