Cubism

Cubism was one of the most influential visual art styles of the early twentieth century. It was created by. Pablo Picasso. They reacted against the naturalism of the impressionists to explore color, line, and form, and the emotional response of the artist, a concern that led to the development of expressionism. Abstract Impressionism

Abstract Impressionism (closely related to Lyrical abstraction) is a type of abstract painting (not to be confused with Abstract Expressionism) where small brushstrokes or application with a palette knife build and structure larger surface areas. Op Art

Op art, also known as optical art, is a style of visual art that uses optical illusions. Op art works are abstract, with many better known pieces created in black and white. Typically, they give the viewer the impression of movement, hidden images, flashing and vibrating patterns, or of swelling or warping. Movement: The antecedents of Op art, in terms of graphic and color effects, can be traced back to Neo-impressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Constructivism and Dada.

Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the mid-1950s in Britain and the late 1950s in the United States. Among the early artists that shaped the pop art movement were Eduardo Paolozzi and Richard Hamilton in Britain, and Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns in the United States. Neoplasticism

Influenced by his attraction to Cubism.

Minimalism

a trend in sculpture and painting that arose in the 1950s and used simple, typically massive, forms. Movement: In the visual arts and music, minimalism is a style that uses pared-down design elements. Minimalism in the arts began in post-World War II Western art, most strongly with American visual arts in the 1960s and early 1970s. Prominent artists associated with minimalism include Donald Judd, John McCracken, It derives from the reductive aspects of Modernism and is often interpreted as a reaction against abstract expressionism and a bridge to postminimal art practices
