Causes

Incompatible goals- Grechin wants to start the trend of saying fetch but regina begs to differ, their goals of bringing in this new word result in a win-lose. Multiple role expectations- Janice and regina have a fight in middle school due to regina having to be Janice's best friend and Kyle's girlfriend, Regina failed to fulfill her role as being Janice's best friend which resulted in conflict. Varying values- conflict arises when cady has different morals to janice and does not want to spy on regina and steal the burn book. Miss Norberry is frustrated with Cady because she is failing maths on purpose to get guys to like her. Their varying values cause conflict between the two. Ineffective communication- Regina failed to tell Grechin in advance to the jingle bells performance that she was switching sides Limited resources- Regina can only fit into sweatpants as she gains weight, which makes her fail to comply with the group rules Individual differences- when janice finds out about cadys party, janice and realizes that cady is just like regina now and their personality traits are now completely different; cady is now belongs to the plastics clique and janice is still part of "the coolest people you will ever meet" clique.

Power bases

Like when grechin is being hated on by regina, grechin still stays in the group because she's knows its better to be in the plastics hating life then not being in the plastics at all.
