-Suit required Jimi to record an album for Ed Chalpin & released under Capitol Records. He would get all the profits from this album's sales -They recorded 4 live shows at the Fillmore East & these live recordings were turned into the album "Band of Gypsys." With this fulfilled, Jimi owed nothing more to Ed Chalpin. -US release in March Capitol

-met Jimi for the first time after a previous concert and they spent a few days together -met up in London and was with him the last few days he was living--claimed to be engaged & jimi's fiancé, she's kind of crazy -Jimi had taken her sleeping pills the night he died, her story kept changing, Kathy Etchingham took her to court & won -eventually committed suicide

-Anti-war benefit at Madison Square Garden -Band of Gypsys booked to play -Jimi seemed out of it that night (people think Jeffrey of Devon Wilson gave him a dose?) and after 3 songs Jimi sat down and refused to play -Buddy Miles was fired and that was the last show the Band of Gypsys played

-Bassist of Band of Gypsys, friend of Jimi's from army -came back about 3 times -dosed w LSD after a concert in Sweden, had a bad trip and eventually was sent home to recover

Paul Allen

-Billionaire that wanted to buy the rights to Jimi's music, Branton declined his offer -The co-founder of Microsoft that placed the highest bid on Jimi's belongings but was completely ignored. He then backed Al Hendrix in getting all rights of Jimi's things back to his father, Al. -Urged Al Hendrix to sue Branton for a conflicting interest (offered to pay him to sue), and Al received rights again

Alan Douglas had a long history in the record industry, but little experience in rock 'n' roll. He had worked for United Artists' jazz label. 1967- Alan formed Douglas Communications. In September 1969, Jimi invited Alan Douglas to a recording session Jimi told Alan he needed someone to organize things for him and that he felt unable to communicate with Michael Jeffrey, Jimi made Douglas his "spokesman" -produced for Jimi, and Jimi used him as a spokesman -Had to job of overseeing all Jimi's releases after his death. -after Jeffrey's death he took over and produced posthumous music -mid 70's Alan & Lawyner Leo Branton controlled Jimi's estate -Al Hendrix sued them for not having the best interest (backed up by Paul Allen) & Al won -with Tony Bongiovi, they created the album Crash Landing
