Would you prefer to just head down and code (work alone) or work with a team?

I appreciate both aspects of working independently and collaborating with a team. Working alone allows me to dive deep into a problem without interruptions. I can focus intensely on the details of a task, which can be particularly useful. Working in team though allows for collaborative brainstorming and sharing ideas.

How would you describe your work ethic?

I would describe my work ethic as highly dedicated and results-driven. I believe in approaching tasks with a proactive mindset, taking initiative and delivering high-quality work. I am also a firm believer in continuous improvement. I always want to enhance my skills and contribute to the team.

Do you consider yourself introvert or extrovert?

I would describe myself as an extroverted software engineer. I thrive on collaboration and enjoy engaging with my team members. Communication is a key aspect of successful software development, and I find that being extroverted allows me to effectively communicate ideas, gather feedback, and contribute to a positive team dynamic.

My interest in SkillStorm stems from the company's reputation for accelerating tech careers.

How do you prioritize when you have multiple tasks that need to be done?

- (Urgent and Important): Tasks that are both urgent and important should be handled first. -(Not Urgent but Important): These tasks are important but not urgent. Schedule time to address them before they become urgent. -(Urgent but Not Important, Not Urgent and Not Important): These tasks may be less critical and can be deprioritized or delegated.

Can you please tell us a time when you had to be proactive?

One notable instance where I demonstrated proactivity was during a critical phase of a software engineer contest. We were working against a tight deadline, and it became apparent that a specific module's completion was crucial for the overall success of the project. I took the initiative to conduct a comprehensive review of the codebase and potential challenges. During this process, I identified a few areas that could benefit from changes. By taking this proactive approach, we were able to implement necessary changes promptly, ensuring that the module met quality standards and aligned with the rest of the project.

How would you describe your ideal boss?

An ideal boss is approachable and supportive. They create an open-door policy, encourage communication, and provide guidance when needed.

What's your ideal work environment?

A work environment that encourages and supports continuous learning and a balance in workload. This can includes realistic timelines, support when workloads are high, and sustainable pace of work.

What do you do well? What would you like to do better?

I have developed strong skills in several areas including adaptability, time management, and problem solving. Areas I would like to improve upon include improving my front end development skills and taking on more leadership roles.

Why are you interested in this client?

I'm interested in working for Deloitte for a variety of reasons. The first reason would have to be their reputation as one of the top accounting firms in the world. The next reason would have to be the opportunity to work on impactful projects to help the success of the company. I also want to grow as a developer by working under more experienced members in the field.

Have you ever been given a task to do and didn't understand it? If so, what did you do?

In my experience as a software engineer, there have been plenty of instances where I was given a task that I didn't fully understand. The steps I took to gain abetter understanding of the tasks included asking clarifying questions to gain a deeper understanding of the task, reaching out to team members to discuss the task, breaking down the tasks, and conducting research to familiarize myself.

What is your communication style?

My communication style is assertive because I like to be direct and clear when communicating with someone else. When speaking with somebody else I always keep direct eye contact and fully explain everything I'm trying to convey so they can have a full understanding of the topic.
