What is a users limit for follows?

AppExchange also has some useful components for monitoring. For example, Follow Anything is a record page component that you can use to follow, unfollow, and view record feeds. The Chatter Unfollow Rules app provides a way to automatically unfollow records that meet a certain criteria, for example, a case or opportunity that's closed. Automatically unfollowing is an efficient way to help your users avoid hitting that 500 follow limit.

What are bundles?

Bundles are collections of feed tracked change items that you see in feeds. Feed tracked changes (FTCs) are bundled when at least three FTCs with the same parent ID are formed within a specified time. The default time is 1,440 minutes.

What about group archiving?

By default, groups are archived after 90 inactive days. To prevent automatic archiving, select Disable automatic archiving. When a Chatter group is archived, group members can't post messages or share files with the group. However, previous posts, comments, and files remain available for reference. Mentioning a group (@[group_name]) doesn't count as feed activity in that group and doesn't delay group archiving. Group owners, group managers, and users with the permission Modify All Data can manually archive or edit the group's automatic archiving settings at any time.

What are Chatter live feeds?

Chatter in Lightning Experience offers you live feeds in groups and live comments everywhere. No more page refreshes to keep your feed up-to-the-minute. As new posts and comments come in, they flash yellow. If the live update isn't in view, a notification pops up at the top of the feed, alerting you to new stuff.

What are live comments?

Live comments are available everywhere and not just in groups. When someone's entering a comment, an animation shows that there's activity on the post and lets you know who's commenting. When the comment's saved, it flashes yellow in the feed, and you get that pop-up notification letting you know that new content is available.

Are Files the same as Attachments?

No - Attachments on records aren't automatically available from Salesforce Files or the Files related list because attachments aren't actually files. There are options for your admin to convert attachments to Salesforce Files.

Can you continue to use both Files and Notes and Attachments?

No - You can't create new attachments in Lightning Experience.

Can you still use Documents in Lightning?

No. The Documents tab isn't making the trek to Lightning Experience. If you have files in Documents that you need to access in Lightning Experience, we recommend downloading them, then uploading them to your Asset Library in Files home. One exception is documents used in email templates as attachments. These files need to stay in Documents for now.

Can you manage libraries in Lightning?

No. You must switch to Salesforce Classic to create or manage libraries. If you don't have this option, talk to your Salesforce admin. Content deliveries aren't available in Lightning Experience, but link sharing is supported.

What else is new with Notes?

What are some use cases for feed tracking?

Often, it's useful for your users to be notified when a field value changes—an account gets a new owner or its name is revised. That's where feed tracking comes in. It lets you select the record fields to follow. When a tracked field changes, it triggers both Chatter posts and email notifications.

How do you send group emails (to leads and contacts) with Lightning?

What is a stream?

Can you invite external members to a private group?

What are the 4 group types?

Public groups are visible and open to all employees. Anyone in the company can join a public group, and then post, comment, and add files to it. Private groups are members-only. People must request to join a private group. Only the members of the group can post, comment, and add files. People who are not members can see the group's picture and description but not the group feed or files. If the group allows external users, like customers, to join, the group owner or manager must invite them. Unlisted groups are invitation-only and don't appear in list views or search results. An unlisted group is hidden from everyone except the members of the group. Only the group's owner and managers can invite people to join an unlisted group. As the admin, you must enable the option to create unlisted groups. Broadcast Only groups are for making announcements. Only the owner and managers of a broadcast-only group can post to it. But group members can comment on those posts. You can make any type of group broadcast-only.

What are the parts of Groups in Lightning?

There's *the image to promote group identity *a banner to make the page more visually compelling. *A statement about the group type, "Private with Customers" replaces the colored corner on the image (1). *Lots of actions to take in the group, too (2). How is retention handled when a comment is made on an item in a bundle?

When someone comments on a bundled FTC, it's removed from the bundle and placed on its own in the feed. FTCs without comments or likes are deleted and removed from the bundle after 45 days. If the number of FTCs in an existing bundle drops to two, the bundle's nonetheless preserved. If the number of FTCs in a bundle drops to one, the bundle's deleted, and the single FTC appears on its own in the feed.

What is the seen by the seen-by capability in private and unlisted groups.

When the seen-by feature is enabled, it places a seen-by count by each post. Click the count to see who's seen that post.

With files, can you access files from external sources?

Yes - The Files related list also opens the door to all of the files in Salesforce Files that you have access to, including files in libraries and external repositories like Google Drive or Box. To attach files from Salesforce Files, click Add Files in the Files related list.

Can you see opportunities that are going to close on your calendar?

Admins determine which fields are available for filtering when they set up the layout for search results. You can filter only on the columns that appear on the search results page.

What is Group email?

After you create your group, the group email address appears under Group Email. You can see it here and in the right column of your group page. People with access to the group can use the address to post to the group feed through email.

How is Lookup search better in Lightning?

Search results come right under the field and acts a lot like global search When you press Enter to perform a full lookup search, all searchable fields are searched. Search features like spelling correction are applied. You can sort full search results by clicking the column headings and by relevance.

Searching (global search)

Suggested Records— Lists up to five records that have a name that matches your search term. Records include 1. recent items, 2. items from your most frequently used objects, and 3. items from the current object.

What are Feed Tracked Changes?

System-generated posts about record updates are called Feed Tracked Changes, or FTCs. The person who posted, the group owner, a group manager, and anyone with Modify All Data permission can delete a post. These same people can delete a comment on the post.

Identify Champions:

Three types you need: 1. Sponsors - at least one executive identified as the sponsor. When your Executive Sponsor is actively posting in Chatter, others follow suit. Now, this person usually has a full calendar, so a good guideline for your Executive Sponsor is one post a day. 2. Evangelist - Formally recognize them as Chatter Evangelists. Your evangelists can help answer questions, encourage other users who are nervous about posting, create and manage groups, and curate content. 3. Community Manager - For Chatter to soar, you need great content and a sense of community. You need a Community Manager curating quality content and driving user engagement. Examples of great content include helpful files, links to industry news articles or videos, posts about events. They'll measure your results, work with evangelists, and deploy adoption programs to keep Chatter going long after deployment.

How can users opt out of chatter approvals?

Through their personal Chatter settings, users can opt out of receiving approval requests as posts in their Chatter feeds. They continue to get notified through email. Users who don't opt out get both a Chatter post and an email notification.
