Tetanus

A bacterial disease marked by rigidity and spasms of the voluntary muscles.

Cerebral Contusion

A form of traumatic brain injury that is a bruise of the brain tissue

Cluster headache

A headache that tends to occur over a period of several weeks on one side of the head.

A hit to the head so hard that it leads to permanent or temporary impairment of cognitive.

Lethargy

A lack of energy and enthusiasm. "Lack and Lethargy"

A measurement of a person's arousability and responsiveness to stimuli from the environment.

Amnesia

A partial or total loss of memory.

Parkinson's disease

A progressive disease of the nervous system marked by tremors, chiefly affecting middle-aged and elderly people.

Stupor

A state of near-unconsciousness.

Concussion

A temporary unconsciousness caused by a blow to the head. (causes confusion)

Shaken baby syndrome

An injury to a baby caused by being shaken violently and repeatedly. "Shaken baby"

Conscious

Aware of and responding to one's surroundings; awake.

Hemat/oma

Collection of blood outside the brain.

Hydro/cephalus

Fluid accumulates in the brain, typically in young children.

Encephal/itis

Inflammation of the brain.

Meningitis

Inflammation of the meninges.

Encephal/o/cele

Neural tube defect characterized by sac like protrusions or hernia of the brain. "Brain Hernia"

Unconscious

Not aware of surroundings; asleep.

Alzheimer's disease

Progressive mental deterioration that can occur in middle or old age, due to generalized degeneration of the brain.

Mening/o/cele

Protrusion of the meninges.

Syncope

Temporary loss of consciousness due to low blood pressure.

Migraine headache

Very bad headache that is accompanied by nausea.

Dementia

a chronic or persistent disorder of the mental processes caused by brain disease or injury
