Factor pairs.

2 whole numbers that multiply to make a target number.

Cubed. Five cubed equals one hundred twenty five.

5 cubed means 5 times 5 times 5.

Squared. Six squared equals thirty-six

6 squared means 6 times 6.

Multiples of a number

A number multiplied by other numbers. "Count by seven" to say the multiples of seven: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35...

Composite numbers

A whole number that has more than two different factors.

Prime Numbers

A whole number with only 2 factors. A number that can only be divided by 1 and itself.

Of. Half of ten is five.

Abdirahman ate 0.5 of 10 pieces. How many pieces did he eat?

Double. Hector has seventy dollars.

Alexander has $35. Hector has double as much. How much money does Hector have?

Times. Times by. Ten times three is equal to thirty

Alison sees 10x3 and asks "What is 10 times 3?"

Erizael has 10 equal sets of cards. Each set has 52 cards. How many cards does he have?

Twice. Rahma worked twenty-four hours.

Giselle worked for 12 hours. Rahma worked twice as much. How many hours did Rahma work?

Batches of. Hajiya used 6 eggs.

Hajiya made 3 batches of cookies for Hanjatu. Every batch of cookies needs 2 eggs. How many eggs did she use?

Rows of. He planted twenty rows, each row had five tomato plants.

Jean Carlos planted 100 tomatoes in rows of 5. How many rows did he plant?

Per. In seven hours, he will drive six hundred thirty miles.

Repeated addition. Adding six four times is the same as six multiply four.

Multiplication is the same as repeated addition. I can add 6+6+6+6 or say 6 multiply 4.

Say the multiples of a number. "Skip count" by five: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25...
