was a shepherd and fig tree farmer from Judah; prophesied during reign of Uzziah in Judah and Jeroboam II in Israel; contemporary with Hosea and Jonah; social justice=true piety
Hosea
wrote during the reign of Hoshea; told by God to take an adulterous wife; kids' names were Jezreel, Lo-Ammi (not my people), and L0-Ruhamah (without compassion)
Jonah
book is a narrative about him; prophesied during reign of Jeroboam II; contemporary of Amos; mission was to prophesy coming destruction to Nineveh; angry when Nineveh repented and was spared
Zechariah
