Tooth Decay

Cavity caused by bacteria (germs) in the mouth create acid from the foods we eat. -Acids destroy the enamel of the teeth causing a cavity. -Progresses, teeth may become sensitive to hot, cold or sweets. Infection (abscess may develop. -May need to be removed

Gum Disease

Gingivitis occurs when plaque (germs & food that stick to your teeth) isn't removed from teeth each day. Bacteria irritates the gums. -Gums may become red and swollen, easily bleeding when brushed or flossed. -Periodontal disease, bacteria destroys the bone that holds the teeth in place.

Dry Mouth

Leaves the teeth, gums, tongue and other mouth tissues feeling dry. -Not enough saliva to wash away food and acids from the teeth and gums.

Mouth Care

Proper care of the mouth and teeth supports a persons overall health and helps prevent mouth pain, eating, speech, and digestive problems, tooth decay and gum disease. -Brush twice a day (recommended after each meal) -Floss-once a day
