Religious wars from happening in the United States.

It also created a situation where different European countries would compete

against each other like Spain v. England. That was not the case as much in China, the Ottomans, or even in the Americas. Those empires were too fast. Feudalism in Europe, splinters into smaller religions.

In other words, the Roman Catholic Church and the state

We're not exactly the same thing. That's different in other parts of the world where the church and state were the same thing.
