What are two ways to find the max height from the vf

EQUATIONS: Vf^2=Vo^2+2a (triangley) or KE=1/2mv^2 =>PEg= mgh (conservation of energy)

Once the engine turns off, what force takes over?

Fg

The reason we could not use I = Ft to determine the impulse of the rocket engine.

Force was not constant

The free-body diagram of the rocket while the engine is on

Ft thrust<---m-->Fg

Three types of energy a rocket in flight with the engine on can have (Note: there are more than three to choose from)

Gravitational PE KE Heat Chemical PE Light Sound

When the rocket engine shuts off, only this force affects its motion

Gravity

how to find the max take off velocity

I(engine)= m(engine)Vf(engine)-m(engine)Vo(engine)

If the resistance in a circuit decreases while the voltage is constant, the current will:

INCREASE

law of conservation to energy

Law that states the total energy of a system always remains constant

The location in the rocket's trajectory when it has a velocity of zero

Maximum height

in an accel versus time graph, when is the rocket falling down

NA

when is the max height on an accel versus time graph

NA

Immediately after the engine runs out of fuel, is the velocity zero?

No because after it runs out of fuel the velocity is not 0 because it decelerates until the acceleration becomes -10 m/s^2 and constant.

The units of the area under a Force vs Time graph

Ns

If the current through a light-bulb is 0 A, the light will be:

OFF

why does the accel v time graph do or doesn't match the accel v time graph

One of the things that is different are the time intervals because we graphed them ourselves versus the accel vs time with was a graph in real time. It's also different because when the graph goes speeding up when the graph goes up and slowing down when the graph how's down. Whereas for the accel vs time graph it's speeding up when its positive. and the same thing goes for moving up and falling down. Also, it's moving up the whole time just like the accel versus time. The max height is the last time interval like the accel versus time graph.

Once the rocket runs out of fuel, what is the acceleration of the rocket?

The acceleration decelerates and then becomes constant at -10 m/s^2.

why might there be a difference in the max height for different pts of the lab

The measured graph was different than the other two graphs because the Altatrack could have been tilted. Also the gun only measured up to 70 degrees and ours were more than that so it would have been more. Also there could have been wind and air resistance making the answers wrong.

why are short circuit dnagerous

Too much current runs, causing a lot of heat!= fire

Is there a point in the rocket's trajectory that will have zero velocity?

When the acceleration is 0 the velocity is 0 and max height

When looking at the Velocity vs Time graph for the rocket, this point on the graph tells us the time when the rocket reaches its maximum height

When the graph hits the x-axis (or velocity of zero)

how to find the height from the launch

[tan(angle)= h/ distance from rocket]+2

The equation for the acceleration of the rocket while the engine is on

a = FT/m- g

explain the structure of an accel v time graph

all the way up, then a bit down, then flat, then all the at down past the line to -10, then flat

in a v vs t graph what when is the rocket speeding up

beginning time till max v

in an accel versus time graph, when is the rocket moving up

beginning- NA

another word for impulse is

change in momentum(p)

Area of a F vs t graph gives you

impulse

What are the units of the area of the velocity vs time graph?
