It all started when a british scientist, Klaus Fuchs, was accused of passing notes to a soviet spy in the 1950's, and that started suspicions of two individuals named Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.

Julius and Ethel were from New York city, but were born from parents from the Soviet Union.

Julius hired Emanuel Block, who was the lawyer that would fight until the end on June 19, 1953. The case took two years.

That is exactly what happened. The Soviets did get their hands on the plans, and they were able to successfully create an Atom Bomb.

The U.S became aware that someone was passing notes to the Soviets, and that caused fear, tension and suspicion by the U.S government.

The U.S felt that the Rosenbergs, Julius and Ethel, were involved as Soviet spies, however they knew that there was others involved in this as well.The Rosenberg's involvement became established when Ethel's brother, David Greenglass, passed a note containing information about how to create an atomic lens cap to another Soviet spy.

The big worry for the U.S was that the Soviets would learn how to make this atom bomb, making life riskier in the United States for nuclear war.

There was a secret project known as the Manhattan Project, which was the project known to be creating an Atomic Bomb. Everyone was fearful of the creation of this weapon falling into the wrong hands, since this was a weapon used to destroy many lives and homes in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

This started a domino effect, where as Greenglass turned in the Rosenbergs, for their involvement with the information of the atomic lens. Essentially, this was the beginning of the end for the Rosenbergs because this is what led to them being brought to trial.
