What should SDS sheets include
-Identify product -manufacturer info-name, address, phone -chemical and common names for active ingredient -hazards of chemicals contained in product -carcinogenicity of product -physical and chemical characteristics -health hazards-signs and symptoms of exposure,route of entry -precautions and special protection required -clean up procedures for spill or leak
Employee responsibility
-Must be obtained for all hazardous chemicals -must be maintained and updated with current sheets -must be placed in accessible location -must train all employees exposed to hazardous chemicals
SDS criteria
-Written in english -standardized 16 section format
Manufacturer responsibility
-determine hazards of their chemical product -communicate (distribute) hazard and safety precautions to the customers by supplying SDSs and labels -Label containers of hazardous chemicals with hazard warning diamond (quick refernce from SDS)
