What is a constant?
A factor that is kept the same This allows a fair test
What is a control?
A standard against which all other test results will be compared. The control group is exposed to the same conditions as the experimental group except for the variable being tested.

John watches his grandmother bake bread. He asks his grandmother what makes bread rise. Grandma explains that yeast releases a gas as is feeds on sugar. John wonders if the amount of sugar used in the recipe will affect the size of the bread loaf. He decides to bake a couple of breads using different amount of sugar. To bake the bread to bake the bread he will use his grandmothers oven and bake them at 375 degrees. What is the independent variable? What is the dependent variable? What are the two constants?
The independent variable is the amount of sugar. The dependent variable is the size of the bread loaf. The two constants are the oven and the temperature that the bread is baked at.
What is the dependent variable? (Aka)
The thing in an experiment that is being measured and observed Aka responding variable
What is the independent variable? (Aka)
What is changed in an experiment. Aka manipulated variable
