What is the historical impact of the Underground railroad?
The underground railroad helped enslaved people escape and brought abolitionists together. Even though it saved lots of lives, it also increased tensions between the North and South, promising the civil war was soon to come.

a document signed by attendees of the Seneca Falls convention that stated the rights of women. It was written by Lucretia Mott and Stanton and phrased like the declaration of Independence. It was phrased like this to sound patriotic and to compare how women were currently being treated to how Americans in general used to be treated by the British. This would make the Declaration of Sentiments more persuasive to people reading it and would help them understand how badly women were being treated in a new way.
