Acid rain is caused from harmful gases mixing with water vapor.

Explain how interactions of air masses form frontal boundaries (types), clouds (development), rainfall patterns and wind patterns. a. List and explain each of the four types of fronts.

Lifting also occurs along frontal boundaries as air masses of different temperature and moisture content interact with each other. As the air rises, it cools and its moisture condenses to produce clouds and precipitation. cold front- the boundary of an advancing mass of cold air warm front- the boundary of an advancing mass of warm air stationary front- A stationary front is a pair of air masses, neither of which is strong enough to replace the other. cold and warm air collide occluded front- a composite front produced by occlusion. warm and cold front traveling the same way

How does each of the following human activities impact the quality of atmospheric composition? (aerosols, chlorofluorocarbons [CFC], burning fossil fuels, industrial byproducts, over farming)

They send bad gasses into the atmosphere and are stored there because of the greenhouse effect. Over farming will kill many trees and plants that absorb co2.

Explain factors that affect air density (pressure) and understand their influence on winds, air masses, fronts, and storm systems.

Summarize information about the layers of the atmosphere, temperature, chemical composition & interaction with radiant energy. a. Name each layer and give the corresponding trend in temperature.

Troposphere: gets colder as you go up. It's bad to have o3 in it. Stratosphere: it gets warmer and o3 is protective in here. Mesosphere: coldest layer. Thermosphere: highest and has the ionosphere.

In the US, what is the prevailing wind and in which direction do storms move as a result?

We have the Prevailing Westerlies in the US, which causes storms to move east across the United States (from the west coast to the east coast).
