People lived longer with a good health because of lack of pollution, active life style and safer roads. People spent lot of time with their families and friends. Very few people were obese because of their active life style by walking and bicycling to school and work. People were happy with a simple lifestyle, though they didn't have too much money. More railroads were built.

History of the Automobile

The automobile was the most revolutionary invention in the history of transportation. The history of the automobile reflected the evolution the world went through. The initial inventions were slower and harder to operate which led to the evolution and invention of the practical automobile, the internal combustion engine. During the nineteenth century, two Germans named Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz opened a new chapter in the history of transportation. America began producing cars in the 1890's. It started with a steam motor, gasoline engine and electrical vehicles.

World After the Invention of the Automobile

The invention of the automobile brought many revolutionary changes and changed the world forever. People found their personal freedom to enjoy their life. People traveled to different places for education, jobs, and new opportunities. Cities and towns grew, more highways were created which lead to more job opportunities for middle class people. Aircrafts were invented making the world much smaller and accessible. The economy improved locally and globally. The lack of automobiles affected people by hindering their access to work, school, commitments and responsibilities. People depended on animals and other carriages for their transportation which wasted time in commuting rather than work itself. Created a bigger gap and disparity between rich and poor. Economy slowed down and the jobs which depended on automobile industry slowly died down. There was great amount of uncertainty and depression among people.

The world today without Automobile and Cars is a cleaner and healthier place. The environment is clean without air pollution from automobiles. People are poor and hungry for work and money. We could produce and supply our own gasoline without having to borrow from other countries. Less chances for terrorism with limited access to machinery and planes.There is a tremendous need for an economic growth.

1863- Jean-Joseph-Etienne Lenoir built a "horseless carriage" which used an internal combustion engine. 1867- Nicholaus August Otto built the first practical four-stroke internal combustion engine called the "Otto Cycle Engine". 1870- Julius Hock built a internal combustion engine that runs on liquid gasoline. 1877- Nikolaus Otto built a four-cycle internal combustion engine, the prototype for modern car engines. 1879- George Baldwin filed for the first U.S. patent for an automobile. 1885- Karl Benz built a three-wheel automobile powered by a gasoline engine, the world's first motorbike. 1886- Henry Ford built his first automobile in Michigan. 1887- Gottlieb Daimler built a four wheel vehicle considered the first modern automobile.
