"In the name of Allah the Compassionate, the Merciful"

As the word Qur'an comes from the angel Gabriel's command to Muhammad to.....;

"Read in the name of your Lord who created you..."

All but one of the chapter in the Qur'an start with a phrase called what? When is it used and repeated?

Bismallah, this is used as a special prayer and is repeated on lots of different occasions such as before eating or going on a journey.
