Hyline Cartilage

Most common type of Cartilage. Composed of: Abundant collagen fibers and a rubbery matrix. Located: Larynx, entire fetal skeleton, costal cartilage (of ribs), ends of long bones, cartilage of nose and trachea

Elastic Cartilage

Provides Elasticity Location: external ear and epiglottis (helps swallow) Functions: Maintains structure, but allows flexibility

Fibro Cartilage

Strongest cartilage. found in intervertebral discs, joint capsules, ligaments.
