An access point looks like it's on but you cannot connect to it. Describe how you would troubleshoot it.

Can any device connect to the access point or only mine can't connect. Can I ping the access point? Is the access point discoverable at all. Am I in a bad reception spot? Is another device causing signal interference?

Imagine you are at work and a user complains about the performance of his laptop. How do you handle this situation? What do you do?

I would ask the user if I may see their laptop and that I'll try to find the culprit for why it may be acting slow. Often when users complain about computer performance it is either a hardware or networking issue. They may have unneeded background processes open that are eating up system resources that can be closed. Current needed applications may also be hogging more system resources than normal and may need to be ended and restarted. A network issue may be caused by network congestion on their own network or if the user is trying to access an external site the external site may be experiencing issues of their own.

You must replace a working laptop with a newer model. Please describe the process and steps you would follow to make sure the user has minimum service disruption and that the user will find everything he/she had before such as: Data, Application, Network folder links, Any Personal customization (E.g. World Dictionary, Bookmarks, Outlook Signature), Printer configuration.

I would first connect this laptop to Amazon's Domain controller. This will allow the user to login into the domain and access their active directory user account. Imaging?

You are trying to connect your computer to the network. How do you identify your internal and external IP addresses? If your address starts with 169.x, what's the next step and what's the reasoning?

Internal IP addresses can be found by using the IPconfig command. The external ip address can be found using external IP address lookups. (ex ifconfig.me) If a 169.x address is being returned APIPA has assigned the device an IP address because it could not find the DHCP server. I would find out why this device is not reaching the DHCP server. Is the DHCP server accessible to other devices? Can this current device ping the DHCP server? Can I manual point to the DHCP server? Can I manually assign an IP address?

A user has an issue with a printer connected to the network. What are the troubleshooting steps? Feel free to share as much information as you can about what you'd do to fix it.

Is just this user having problems or are multiple users unable to use the printer. Is the printer powered on, is the user connected to the network, is the user connected to the printer, is the printer jammed, are the proper printer drivers installed on the users computer, Does it print over wifi and ethernet or neither. Will it print a test page from the pinter.
