What is an internet protocol?

An Internet protocol is a method for transferring data from one computer to another through the Internet. There are various types of Internet protocols, such as file transfer protocol, hypertext transfer protocol, telnet protocol, news, file, and mailto.

What are web browser featuress?

-An address bar shows the URL. -Back and Forward buttons move to the web address that was visited immediately before or after the current page within same window. -Bookmarking is a way of storing a web page so you can return to it easily in the future. -Password manager remembers site passwords. -The Smart location bar locates the sites you visit repeatedly by matching terms you type. -Zoom makes the web page appear larger or smaller.

Open-source allows non-paid access to, and redistribution of, a product's design and creation details. -Firefox is a popular open-source web browser. Parts of Google Chrome and Safari were made using open-source browser code. Internet Explorer and Opera are not open-source. -Web browsers have similar external features. For example, most offer bookmarking, address bars, and Back and Forward buttons. -However, web browsers can differ in how they render a web page. For example, a web page viewed in Firefox may look different than the same web page viewed in Internet Explorer.

What is a human readable URL?

A human readable URL is a representation of data that can be read by humans. For example, the URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IETF is human readable because it's easy to see this is a web page about the IETF.

What is a non-human readable URL?

A non-human readable URL is a representation of data that cannot be deciphered by humans. For example, the URL http://72.14.207.99 is non-human readable because strings of numbers don't mean much to most people.

What is a user interface?

A user interface is the part of a software program that a person (the user) can interact with.

What is a web address?

A web address is a way of representing the location of a web page or information resource on the web. A web address functions much like a mailing address. When you address an envelope to send a letter, you include information that tells the postal service where the letter is going. That information might include a house number, street, city, state or region, postal code number, or country.

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (http://) is a foundation for data communication on the Internet. File Transfer Protocol (ftp://) allows users to move files from one computer to another and was frequently used in earlier days. Telnet (telnet) protocol connects to the computer remotely. News (News:) allows users to access newsgroups. File (file://) loads a local file from a network onto your computer. Mailto (mailto:) is used to send e-mail messages.
