Influenze Vaccine Schedule
Annually past the age of 6 months
Vaccines for 12 months - 6 years
Children receive 9 vaccines between 13 months and 6 years. Some vaccines are a continuation of a series started when they were infants; other vaccines cannot be administered until a child is at least 12 months old.

First does at age 11-12 years, and a booster at 16.
It is early August and Bryce is 5 years old and will be entering kindergarten. He was up-to-date with his vaccinations at 3 years of age. What vaccinations are recommended at this time?
He needs his 5th and final dose of DTaP; his 4th and final dose of IVP; and his 2nd and final doses of MMR and Varicella. The influenza vaccine is not often available in early August. He should return later in the fall for either the influenza LAIV or TIV.
It is October and 18 month old Jay is returning to the clinic for vaccinations. He last visited the clinic at 11 months. He has completed his Hepatitis B series and had his 3rd dose of IPV. He received influenza TIV last fall 2 doses a month apart at 6 and 7 months. What vaccines are recommended at this time?
Jay will receive his 4th dose of DTaP, Hib, & PCV. He will receive his first dose of MMR, Varicella and HepA. Since it is flu season, he should also receive his annual influenza TIV dose. Jay was not old enough for some of the vaccines due between 12 months and 15 months the last time he visited and therefore would receive those a little last at this visit.

Newborn baby Ethan can receive only the HepB (Hepatitis B) vaccine.
It is summer and Julie just turned 3 years old. Julie has completed the DTap, IPV, Hib, PCV, and Hepatitis B series. She has had the first dose of MMR, Varicella and Hepatitis A. What vaccines are recommended for her at this time?
She should get her second dose of HepA. She can receive the influenza TIV or LAIV when it is available. She is younger than the recommended age to receive the 2nd MMR or Varicella.
It is December and Lucy, 22 months old, is visiting her health care provider with a cold. She completed her HepB series, Hib, PCV and IPV at 12 months. She received her last dose of DTaP and her first dose of MMR, Varicella and HepA at 15 months. What vaccines are recommended at this time?
She should receive her 2nd dose of HepA and influenza TIV. A cold is not a contraindication for receiving immunizations.
It is March and 15 month old Sarah is coming to the office for the remainder of her recommended vaccines. She was current with her vaccines at 6 months. She received 2 influenza vaccines in the fall (4 weeks apart) and, at her one year checkup; she received her last HepB, Hib, PCV and IPV. What vaccines are recommended for Sarah at this time?
She should receive her first dose of MMR, Varicella, & HepA. Instead of taking the MMR & Varicella, she could take the combination MMRV.
