1-2 Scientific Method Objectives
How to scientist investigations begin:
Most scientific investigations begin with observations that lead to a question.
What are two types of experiments that scientists can use to test hypotheses:
Scientists conduct controlled experiments or perform studies in order to test a hypothesis.
Define The Scientific Method.
Steps or ways that scientist use or follow in order to answer a question or solve a problem.
State and Explain The Seven Steps of The Scientific Method?
1) Asking Question: Ask anyone, anything, anytime, anywhere. 2) Making Observation: Gathering information through your senses, observe should be accurate or recorded. 3) Forming Hypothesis: A possible explanation that can be tested by observation or experimentation, hypothesis should be writing in a form "If cause, than effect". 4)Testing Hypothesis: We test hypothesis by conducting a controlled experiment. (control group and experimental group) 5) Organizing Data: We organize data by using tables and charts...... 6) Drawing Conclusion: We draw conclusion to see if the hypothesis is correct or wrong. 7) Communicating Results: communicating results is importing because: 1-We add to our knowledge. 2-We check our information. 3-We Redesign a new experiment.
Differentiate between the control group and experimental group:
Control group Serves as a standard of comparison because the group receives no experimental treatment, while experimental group are identical to the control group except for one factor, or variable.
What is the difference between a theory and a hypothesis:
The main different between a theory and a hypothesis is that a hypothesis is a specific, testable prediction for a limited set of condition and a theory is a general explanation for a broad range of data.
