Hussain Muhammad Ershad

A Bangladeshi military officer and politician. He served as the Chief of Army Staff and later became the President of Bangladesh through a bloody military coup in 1982. His presidency lasted until 1990 and was marked by both developmental initiatives and political controversies. He introduced significant economic and infrastructural reforms while facing opposition and protests against his rule. His tenure had a lasting impact on Bangladesh's political landscape, leading to his eventual resignation in the face of mass protests.

Muhammad Amin Didi

A prominent Maldivian poet, writer, and nationalist. He is considered one of the most influential figures in Maldivian literature ans is known for his poetry and essays that celebrated Maldivian culture, language, and history. Didi's works often focused on themes of social justice, political freedom, and the preservation of the Maldivian identity. He played a crucial role in shaping modern Maldivian literature and inspiring a sense of national pride.

Benazir Bhutto

Benazir Bhutto was a Pakistani politician and stateswoman who served as the 11th and 13th prime minister of Pakistan from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996. She was the first woman elected to head a democratic government in a Muslim-majority country.

Lord Curzon

George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston styled Lord Curzon of Kedleston between 1898 and 1911 and then Earl Curzon of Kedleston between 1911 and 1921, was a British statesman, Conservative politician and writer who served as Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905. He is generally known in the history of British India for his manifold administrative reforms and his anti-nationalist measures such as Calcutta Municipal Corporation Act, Indian University Act, Official Secrets Act and, above all partition of Bengal.

Kalpana Chawla

Kalpana Chawla was an Indian-born American astronaut and aerospace engineer who was the first woman of Indian origin to fly to space. She first flew on Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997 as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator. Chawla's second flight was on STS-107, the final flight of Columbia, in 2003

Muhammad Fareed Didi

King Muhammad Fareed Didi KCMG, the son of the Sultan Prince Abdul Majeed Didi, was the last Sultan of Maldives and the first Maldivian monarch to assume the title of "King" with the style of "His Majesty". He was the Sultan of the Maldives from March 7, 1954, until November 11, 1968.

Solomon Bandaranaike

Known by the Sri Lankan people as "The Silver Bell of Asia". He was the fourth Prime Minister of the Dominion of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), serving from 1956 until his assassination in 1959, causing him to die in office. The founder of the left-wing and Sinhalese nationalist Sri Lanka Freedom Party, his tenure saw the country's first left-wing reforms.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto

Pakistani barrister, politician and statesman who served as the fourth president of Pakistan from 1971 to 1973, and later as the ninth prime minister of Pakistan from 1973 to 1977. He was the founder of the Pakistan People's Party and served as its chairman until his execution.

Sirimavo Bandaranaike

Sirima Ratwatte Dias Bandaranaike, commonly known as Sirimavo Bandaranaike, was a Sri Lankan stateswoman and politician and the modern world's first female head of government

Subhas Chandra Bose

Subhas Chandra Bose was an Indian nationalist whose defiance of British authority in India made him a hero among many Indians, but his wartime alliances with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan left a legacy vexed by authoritarianism, anti-Semitism, and military failure

B.R. Ambedkar

• B.R. Ambedkar (Baba) was a philosopher, politician, and leader of the Dalits. He played a major role in the formation of the Indian Constitution. He was well-educated and had a law degree from Colombia. He converted to Buddhism before dying which led to revival of Buddhism in India. Led movement of Hindu untouchables and led 500,000 dalits to convert to Buddhism in 1956.
