What is a Gall?

The immune system of the tree that catches diseases or parasites or bugs that try to make their way into the tree from the branches, the tree forms a knot around the intrusion keeping the tree from outsiders

Branches are offshoots from the main stem the trunk ; Branches have nodes that hold leaves and trunks are the main highways for nutrient transportation

Carbohydrates serve as the building blocks for the plants infrastructure (carbs are the on of the byproducts of photosynthesis)

What are the names of plants that lose their leaves and keep their leaves all year?

Deciduous - loses leaves; Evergreen - Keeps all year

What are the different kinds of leaves called?

Lobed, simple, needled and scaled

What are the 3 primary groups of plants?

Non-vascular , Vascular , Seed-bearing vascular

What is photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is the process by which sunlight, carbon dioxide and water are mixed together within the leaves of a plant to create oxygen and carbohydrates

What are the 4 main parts of a plant? And what are the functions of each?

Roots- anchor of plant, gather minerals and water; Trunk - skeleton and highway of plant ; Seeds-reproductive means of plant; Leaves - sites of energy production

Why do trees lose their branches?

When a branch doesn't produce energy from photosynthesis, the branch is not given any nutrients to stay alive from the rest of the plant
