The two main fermentation are Alcoholic Fermentation and Lactic Acid Fermentation.

Name the two main types of fermentation.

Alcoholic Fermentation and Lactic Acid Fermentation are similar because they both need pyruvic acid and NADH to form. They are also similar because they both generate NAD+so that glycolysis can continue. But unlike Alcoholic Fermentation, Lactic Acid Fermentation does not give off carbon dioxide.

How are alcoholic fermentation and lactic acid fermentation similar? How are they different?

Cellular respiration releases energy more slowly than Fermentation does. After that, your body stores energy in muscle and other tissues in the form of the carbohydrate glycogen. Then lastly, your body begins to break down other stored molecules, including fats, for energy.

List the body's sources of energy in the order in which they are used during a long distance race.

When the race is over, the only way to get rid of lactic acid is in a chemical pathway that requires extra oxygen.

Why do runners breathe heavily after a sprint race?
