Cave painting was limited almost entirely to the depiction of animals probably due to to prehistoric people's dependence on animals for food. Their rituals was intended to weaken it and make it easier to hunt. The hunters probably believed that, by drawing a lifelike picture of an animal , they were capturing some of that animals strength and spirit.
