Because a lot of people think that once they reach a certain level of status, respect, or success, that they've made it in life. Greatness is not something that if you meet it once it stays with you forever. It will require sustaining greatness for a long period of time.

Build an optimal schedule. Lock everything into place in fifteen to thirty minute blocks. When you work, only work on one thing at a time, think about the task in front of you and pursue it relentlessly. When it's time to rest actually rest.

By this time you should have a working schedule that maximizes your effort without sacrificing sleep.

Choose any competitive situation that you're in now. Who is your opponent? Whatever it is you have to work harder on the project or class or job than ever before. Do everything exactly as they ask, and whatever standard they set as an ideal outcome. Surpass it with excellence.

What does it take to be uncommon among uncommon men?
It demands singular focus and may upset the balance in your life. If you are surrounded by people at the top of their game what are you going to do to stand out? It is very easy to stand out amongst everyday people and be a big fish in a small pond.
What is challenge #8?
It is a 3 week challenge. to maximize your weekly schedule Week one: go about your normal schedule, but take notes. When do you work? Are you working nonstop or checking your phone? When do you exercise? How long is your commute? You will eventually find time to trim and increase productivity!
What is the cookie jar?
It is life obstacles overcome, achievements, minor tasks you've attempted two-three times but overcame. Describe what it was like to overcome those struggles, those opponents, and win.
What is challenge #5?
It is time to visualize! Choose any obstacle in your way, or set a new goal, and visualize overcoming and achieving it. Paint a picture of what success looks and feels like

Make a list of things you can fix. Be brutally honest write them all out and study them. Then look at your calendar and schedule another attempt as soon as possible.

The complacency you feel gathering around you, your coworkers, and teammates in that rare air.
When is the finish line?
There is never going to be a finish line in life.
What are after action reports?
They are a file where you write out the good things, everything that went well and be detailed. Then note how you handled your failure. Did it affect your life and relationships? How so? How did you think throughout the preparation for and during the execution stage of your failure? You have to know how you were thinking at each step because it is all about mindset and that is where people fall short.
What is the point of the cookie jar?
To set ambitious goals before each workout and let those past victories carry you to new personal bests.
What is challenge #7?
To slowly start to remove the govenor from your brain. Your job is it push past your normal stopping point.
What is challenge #10?
To think about your most recent and your most wrenching failures and to write them out long handed and feel the process.
What is the point of removing the govenor?
To train your mind. Get to the point where you are so tired and in pain that your mind is begging you to stop. Then push just 5-10% further. The bottom line is that life is one big mind game. The only person you are playing against is yourself.

To write down all of your insecurities, dreams, & goals on Post it Notes and tag it up on your mirror and write down each step everyday it will take to overcome or accomplish your fear or goal.

Visualizing the challenges that are likely to arise and determine how you will attack those problems when they do.

Why are you doing this? What is driving you toward this achievement? Where does this fire you're using as fuel come from? What has calloused your mind?
