-8. Remember - positive x negative is negative.

What is 58% as a decimal?

0.58 Remember - divide the percentage by 100.

What is 0.43 as a percentage?

43%. Remember - multiply the decimal number by 100 and add the % symbol.

What is -4 x -2?

8. Remember negative x negative is positive.

How do you find the mean?

Add up all the numbers and divide by how many numbers there are.

What are alternate angles (z angles)?

Alternate (z) angles can be found on parallel lines and are equal.

How do you find the median?

Arrange all the numbers in order, then find the middle number.

How do you find the area of a rectangle?

Base x Height

How do you find the area of a triangle?

Base x Height divided by 2

How do you divide by a fraction?

Change the division sign to a multiplication sign. Flip the second fraction. Then do the multiplication.

How do you find a fraction of an amount? (e.g. ¾ of 20)

Divide by the bottom, times by the top. (e.g. 20 ÷ 4 = 5 5 x 3 = 15)

How do you add or subtract fractions?

Give both fractions a common denominator, then add or subtract.

How do you plot the coordinate (3, 5)?

Go 3 along the x-axis and then 5 up the y-axis. "Along the corridor, up the stairs."

How do you find the range?

Highest number subtract smallest number.

How do you find the mode?

It is the most common number.

How do you multiply fractions?

Multiply numerators (top numbers) and multiply denominators (bottom numbers). Simplify if you can.

What does factorise mean?

Putting the brackets back in. Take the highest common factor and put it outside the brackets. Then think what needs to go inside to get the original values/terms.

How do you write a number as a product of primes? e.g. 20

Use a prime factor tree.

What are vertically opposite angles?

When two lines cross, the opposite angles are equal. They are called vertically opposite angles.

y² times y² times y² (add the powers) equals y⁶

y⁸ (add the powers)

What is 22% as a fraction?

²²/₁₀₀ or ¹¹/₅₀. Remember - "percent" means "out of 100". So write the percentage over 100 and simplify.

There are 5 blue counters and 3 green counters in a bag. What is the probability of a green?

³/₈ Remember - there are 3 green out of 8 counters in total.

What is 0.13 as a fraction?

¹³/₁₀₀

How do you find 10% of a number?

÷ 10

How do you find the circumference (or perimeter) of a circle?

π x diameter (π x d)

How do you find the area of a circle?

π x radius squared (π x r²)

How would you write ⁴/₅ as a percentage?

⁴/₅ x 100 = 80% Divide numerator (top) by denominator (bottom) to find the decimal. Then multiply by 100.

What is 0.7 as a fraction?

⁷/₁₀. Remember 0.1 means ¹/₁₀, so 0.7 will be ⁷/₁₀
