An example of vertical integration was the Carnegie Steel Company, and an example of horizontal integration is Costco. In my opinion, vertical integration is better. Although risky, it is an easy way to become the best in the business if you make good choices. Also there can be potentially a better market because of good quality companies and products.

What were the three major goals of American foreign policy in the last half of the nineteenth century?

Three major goals in the American foreign policy were to defend the Western Hem. against Europe, to create new economic powers for the U.S. trade in other countries, and to extend the territory of the U.S.
