Gatsby is in West Egg and Daisy is in East. Now that Gatsby has met Daisy the fantasy is gone, there is nothing to hope for anymore.

In this chapter, what stages does Gatsby go through as he waits for and then meets with Daisy?

He was nervous and had not slept. He wanted to go home. He vanishes.

In the third to last paragraph of this chapter what does Nick mean when he says, "even that afternoon Daisy tumbled short of his dreams-not through her own fault..."

He wish he received the Daisy he knew before marriage. This ia not her fault.

What does Nick mean when he says "I realize now that under different circumstances that conversation might have been one of the crises of my life. But because the offer was obviously and tactlessly for a service to be rendered, I had no choice expect to cut him off there"?

It was a good idea for him to not put more interest into this job that is being offered to him.

Obviously, Daisy, with all her money, is not going to cry over some shirts; why does she cry?

She cries because she regrets not waiting for Gatsby because she could have been happy and rich.

How does Daisy react to this meeting?

She was very fake.

Why does Gatsby throw all his shirts on the table?

To show Daisy all his wealth, the material and styles of each shirt.
