unemployment compensation

Provides former employees with money for a certain period while they are unemployed.

arbitration

Settling labor-management disputes through a third party. The decision is final and binding. It is the final stage in a typical employee grievance procedure.

outsourcing

The assignment of various functions, like human resource management, accounting, or legal work, to outside firms.

corporate culture

The core values and beliefs that support the mission and the business model of the firm and guide employee behavior.

selection

The process of determining which persons in the applicant pool possess the qualifications necessary to be successful on the job.
