Dependent clause that starts with Relative Pronoun or Adverb. Modifies a noun. Answers questions: Which one? What kind? How many?
Adjective Clause
Dependent clause that starts with Subordinate Conjunction. Modifies a verb, adjective, or adverb. Answers questions: When? Where? Why? To what extent?
Adverbial Clause
Group of words that cannot stand alone. Incomplete thought/ idea. Needs to link with an Independent Clause in order to function as a sentence. Can act like an adjective/adverb/noun. This is also called a Subordinate Clause. (Children are dependents whom depend on their independent parents.)

Independent Clause
Connects a clause or phrase to a noun or pronoun. Examples: that, who, which whose, where
Relative Pronouns
Provides a transition between phrases and clauses. Begins an adverbial clause.
Subordinate Conjunctions
