Corner
an optional part of the hardware that is attached to the 4 corners of the body panels. corner hardware can add strength and rigidity, or act as lugs for continuous stationary bar handles. they also add eye appeal and frequently used to cover otherwise visible unfinished weld seams in less expensive caskets
Tip
decorative or ornamental part of the casket handle that overs the exposed ends of the bar. caps off the bars ends. -the return tip, is a tip that is curved inward and is attached to the casket body panel
Stationary bar handles
full length and single varieties. it is a non-movable casket handle. -continuous stationary bar handle, appears to completely encircle the casket body using full-length cars on the caskets sides and single bars on the caskets ends, the gaps between handles at the caskets corners are concealed by corner hardware -the assembly does not incorporate the arm but rather the bar is attached directly to the lug
Swing bar handles
in both full length and single (individual) styles are movable casket handles with hinged arms
Bar
is what actually grips when lifting the casket, the part of the casket handle attached to the lug or arm which is grasped by the casketbearer.
Bail handle
single handle i which the lug, arm, and bar are combined in one unit. it is attached directly to the body panel
Hardware
the handles, ornamental fixtures and their fittings that are attached to the casket shell -can be practical or asthetic
Arm
the part of the casket handle that attaches to the bar to the lug
Lug (ear)
