Code

A formal plan of the Software, expressing its intent in maximal detail.

App

A self-contained program or piece of Software designed to fulfill a particular purpose; an application, esp. as downloaded by a user to a mobile device.

Google Docs

a freeware web-based office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It also was a storage service but has since been replaced by Drive. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating with other users live.

Programmer

a person who writes Codes to create Software Programs.

Microsoft Excel

a spreadsheet application developed by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows and Mac Operating Systems. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.

Google Sites

a structured wiki- and web page-creation tool offered by Google as part of the Google Apps Productivity suite. The goal of Google Sites is for anyone to be able to create a team-oriented site where multiple people can collaborate and share files.

Wiki

a web application which allows people to add, modify, or delete content in a collaboration with others. Text is usually written using a simplified markup language or a rich-text editor. Wikis have little implicit structure, allowing structure to emerge according to the needs of the users.

Microsoft Word

a word processor developed by Microsoft. Word contains rudimentary desktop publishing capabilities and is the most widely used word processing program on the market.

Operating System

Software designed to control the Hardware of a specific data-processing system in order to allow users and application programs to make use of it. It has 3 other main functions: helps other programs running on a computer to use the hardware, allows the user to organize and manage files and folders on the computer and it provides an user interface that allows you to interact with the hardware, the operating system itself, and other programs.

Microsoft Publisher

an entry-level desktop publishing application from Microsoft, differing from Microsoft Word in that the emphasis is placed on page layout and design rather than text composition and proofing.

Microsoft PowerPoint

presentation software that allowed users to invoke pre-defined transitions and effects in a non-linear movie-like style without having to learn programming. It uses a slides.

WYSIWYG

stands for What You See Is What You Get. It refers to a system in which content (text and graphics) displayed onscreen during editing appears in a form closely corresponding to its appearance when printed or displayed as a finished product, which might be a printed document, web page, or slide presentation.

Desktop Publishing

DTP allows the user to create documents using page layout skills on a personal computer. It combines a personal computer and WYSIWYG page layout software to create publication documents on a computer for either large scale publishing or small scale local multifunction peripheral output and distribution. Desktop publishing methods provide more control over design, layout, and typography than word processing does.

GUI

It stands for graphical user interface. Allows a person to give commands to a computer using a pointing device, such as a mouse, that manipulates and activates images on a monitor. Components of the GUI include desktop, taskbar, notification area, and the Start button.

Software

The programs, routines, and symbolic languages that control how hardware works.
