Some people have been unable to get credit cards, car loans, or home mortgages because data stored about them by credit bureaus was inaccurate. In some cases, a retail store may report that someone didn't pay his or her bills, when the bills were paid in full. This is sometimes referred to as garbage in/garbage out (GIGO).
